Demo / Lab Visit Day 5

Title: Real time control of brain activity with functional MRI

Abstract:We will visit the MRI facility where student volunteers will show how a participant can control their brain activity in real-time. Brain activity will be imaged with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) using the Turbo Brain Voyager (TBV) software. Logistical details:

  • We can only accommodate a handful of people at a time in the MRI scanner. So please stick to the days/groups assigned to you by the volunteers.
  • It is a short 10 min walk to the MRI facility from the Faculty Hall, and an IISc volunteer will guide you. Please assemble outside the hall in the foyer area (1st floor) on top of the staircase landing — sharp at 5:30 pm (or as soon as the Panel Discussion session gets over).
  • The demo will be brief (30 min), so please leave with your group from the Faculty Hall on time.
  • The visit will happen from Tues – Fri (4 days).
