Indian Institute of Science<\/h1>\n

The\u00a0Indian Institute of Science<\/b>\u00a0(IISc<\/b>) is a\u00a0public,\u00a0deemed,\u00a0research university\u00a0for higher education and research in science, engineering, design, and management. It is located in\u00a0Bengaluru, in the Indian state of\u00a0Karnataka. The institute was established in 1909 with active support from\u00a0Jamsetji Tata\u00a0and thus is also locally known as the\u00a0“Tata Institute”<\/i>. It is ranked among the most prestigious academic institutions in India and has the highest citation per faculty among all the universities in the world. <\/sup>It was granted the deemed to be university status in 1958 and the\u00a0Institute of Eminence\u00a0status in 2018.<\/p>\n

Pratiksha Trust<\/h1>\n

Pratiksha Trust, founded by Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan and Mrs. Sudha Gopalakrishnan has been extending a very generous support to IISc in promoting research in brain science, data science and computing architectures and algorithms inspired by the brain.<\/p>\n

The Pratiksha Trust has made a generous endowment for three distinguished visiting chairs at IISc in the general areas of neuromorphic computing, computational neuroscience, machine learning and data science.<\/p>\n

Many other academic activities related to the research of this group are also supported by this endowment.<\/p>\n
